Reflection on Class Assignment

While doing the in class assignment, it was easy to get the many different view points from the articles we each had. There are many important and influential factors one must consider in regards to teaching art, and any other subjects for that matter. For example, Eisner's article brought up several key points one should be aware of when teaching art (and why teaching other subjects the same way would be beneficial to their students).

Something I feel is very important to consider when teaching would be the pace in which you teach. As a teacher, you must acknowledge that not every student will learn/complete an art assignment at the same time. Having a somewhat flexible teaching plan would be something to consider. By allowing a few extra days for students to finish assignments would be ideal. However, for the students who completed the assignment prior to those extra days, having a new smaller project may be something to look into, or possibly a school-year long larger project which students would be able to work on in their free time.

Overall, each article brought up new ideas and concerns that the teacher should be prepared for/thinking about. As future teachers, it shows that we should be open to learning and teaching new ways.
